Medical Mission

Hospice of Palm Beach County is proud to partner with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Palm Beach Regional Campus and Palm Beach Centre for Graduate Medical Education at Columbia Hospital in offering two separately accredited ACGME and AOA Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Programs. Both programs are designed to mirror each other to ensure similar experiences. Participating institutions include: JFK Medical Center, West Palm Beach Veterans Administration Medical Center, and Hospice of Palm Beach County.

The Fellowship program contributes to quality end-of-life care by educating physicians in the latest treatments and care relevant to terminally ill patients' physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs. Hospice of Palm Beach County's 30 years of compassionate hospice care is the philosophical cornerstone behind the program and "caring" is woven throughout the fellowship experience. Fellows will learn the art and science of hospice and palliative medicine while working in a compassionate environment.

This rigorous, year-long clinical fellowship is a pathway for clinicians who are interested in achieving excellence in palliative medicine. The program is designed to further physician education in palliative medicine through practical training and experience in multiple clinical and residential settings with a variety of patients and their families. The selected fellow will also gain knowledge through lectures, discussions and mentoring. Fellows will experience a program where the way things are done is just as important as the treatments themselves.

The Fellowship Program is grateful to the Hospice Foundation of Palm Beach County for its support.
