Program Leadership

The University of Miami/JFK Medical Center Palm Beach Regional Graduate Medical Education Consortium Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program is led by a team of compassionate healthcare professionals with extensive experience in palliative medicine. The fellows selected work closely with these leaders and faculty to gain valuable knowledge and experience in end-of-life care.

Dr. Richard Levene is board certified in Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He joined Hospice of Palm Beach County in 1997. He currently oversees the Medical Education Department and is the Program Director for the Fellowship Program. Having a strong history with the Hospice of Palm Beach County clinical team over the years, Dr. Levene held the positions of Assistant Medical Director, Clinical Medical Director, and Vice President of Medical Affairs. He attended the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Long Island, New York and after completing a one-year rotating AOA internship at Delaware Valley Medical Center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania; he completed his Family Practice Residency at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, New Jersey. Dr. Levene is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
